Karen M. Askounis, DVM

Dr. Askounis graduated in 1986, with honors, from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. Since graduation, she has practiced small animal medicine and surgery in the South suburbs. She started County Line Pet Hospital, in 1991. Dr. Askounis has pursued additional training in trauma medicine, behavioral counseling, and Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation. She has a special interest in internal medicine and behavioral problems in companion animals. Dr. Askounis enjoys the companionship of her pets - a Dalmatian, a Boxer mix, a Great Dane mix, a Pitbull mix, an Oriental Shorthair, three Domestic Shorthairs, and several parakeets.
